Dee-Sは東京を拠点とするDJおよびフリーの音楽ライターであり、そのキャリアは幼少期にヒップホップに触れて衝撃を受けたことをきっかけに、14歳でスタートした。シカゴ・ハウスの台頭とともにハウスDJとしての地位を確立し、東京の主要クラブでプレイする一方、ファッション誌のライターとしても活動を行う。
1994年から1997年にかけて、アメリカ、イギリス、ヨーロッパ各地を広く巡り、日本のオーディエンスに国際的なダンスミュージックカルチャーを紹介するうえで重要な役割を担い、2000年には、リバプール発の著名なパーティー「Cream」において、日本人として初のレジデントDJに選出。その後、日本の伝説的クラブYellowにて「Cream In Tokyo」を開催、世界的に著名なTop 100 DJたちと共演を果たした。
DJ活動と並行してフリーランスのライターとしても活躍し、ヨーロッパのダンスミュージックカルチャーを日本に紹介してきた。また、Twitterボット「paradise garage bot」の制作者でもあり、同プロジェクトは2016年にViceで取り上げられている。（現在は休止中）

現在は、Nu Disco、Amapiano、Afro House、Progressive House、Melodic Houseといったジャンルを軸にDJを行い、継続的な執筆およびブログ活動を通じて、現代のダンスミュージックに関する言説の発展と、その歴史的記録の双方に貢献し続けている。
Biography / English
Dee-S is a Tokyo-based DJ and freelance music writer whose career began at the age of 14, after being deeply impacted by his first encounters with hip-hop in childhood. As Chicago house rose to prominence, he established himself as a house DJ, performing at major clubs in Tokyo while also working as a writer for fashion magazines.
From 1994 to 1997, he travelled extensively across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, playing an important role in introducing international dance music culture to Japanese audiences. In 2000, he was selected as the first Japanese resident DJ for the renowned Liverpool-born party Cream. He later launched Cream In Tokyo at the legendary Japanese club Yellow, where he performed alongside internationally recognised Top 100 DJs.
Alongside his DJ career, Dee-S has also worked as a freelance writer, introducing European dance music culture to Japan. He is also the creator of the Twitter bot “paradise garage bot,” a project that was featured by VICE in 2016. The project is currently inactive.
